Basic Operation:

Before starting your adventure, always

complete a quick safety check: 

✅ Adjust the driver seat so you can comfortably reach the pedals 

✅ Adjust mirrors for maximum visibility
✅ Buckle seat belts (all passengers)
✅ Make sure doors are securely latched
✅ Check fuel level and look for any leaks or damage
✅ Wear helmets, eye protection, and appropriate riding gear
✅ Review your planned route and trail conditions

1. Make sure the parking brake is engaged 
2. Insert key and turn ignition ON 
3. Confirm the display lights come on 
4. Press the brake pedal 
5. Press the start button/turn key

Important: Allow the engine to warm up before aggressive driving.

The Kawasaki KRX 1000 uses a gear selector with:

P – Park

• Use when stopped or parked 
• Always engage parking brake when leaving the vehicle 

R – Reverse

• Check surroundings before backing up 
• Use slowly and carefully 

N – Neutral

• Used when starting or idling 

H – High Range

• Normal trail riding 
• Best for maintained roads and moderate terrain 

L – Low Range

• Steep climbs 
• Descents 
• Mud, rocks, and technical terrain 
• Heavy pulling situations 

The KRX 1000 allows you to select:

• Flat trails 
• Dry roads 
• Smooth terrain 

Best for:

• Loose dirt 
• Rocky trails 
• Sand 
• Steep climbs 
• Challenging terrain 

Use only when needed:

• Deep mud 
• Large rocks 
• Extreme traction situations 

Avoid driving long distances with the differential locked.

• Apply smooth, gradual pressure 
• Avoid sudden acceleration, especially on hills or turns 

• Brake early before corners 
• Use controlled braking on downhill sections 
• Avoid locking up tires on loose surfaces 

The Kawasaki KRX 1000 is wide and powerful.

Remember:

✅ Look where you want to go
✅ Keep both hands on the steering wheel
✅ Slow down before turns
✅ Stay centered on narrow trails
✅ Watch your outside tires near edges and obstacles

✔ Use low range when needed
✔ Maintain steady throttle
✔ Avoid stopping on steep hills if possible

✔ Slow down before descending
✔ Use engine braking
✔ Avoid riding the brakes continuously

✔ Slow before the turn
✔ Turn smoothly
✔ Accelerate gently after exiting

Passengers should:

✅ Keep arms and legs inside the vehicle
✅ Hold grab handles
✅ Remain seated at all times
✅ Avoid leaning outside the vehicle
✅ Communicate with the driver

❌ Driving faster than trail conditions allow
❌ Turning sharply at high speeds
❌ Riding too close to cliff edges
❌ Ignoring changing weather conditions
❌ Using high range on difficult terrain
❌ Forgetting to switch into 4WD when needed

❌ Shifting gears while moving

If you experience a problem:

1. Safely pull off the trail 
2. Put vehicle in Park 
3. Engage parking brake 
4. Turn off engine if necessary 
5. Call us for assistance or 911 for any medical emergencies
