Rim Rd 300 Trail Ride

For visitors renting from Payson ATV Rentals or Happy Jack ATV Rentals, the most common and enjoyable way to ride Rim Road (Forest Road 300) is as an out-and-back trip or a one-way traverse.

Onsite from Happy Jack Start: From Sinclair Gas station head south on Highway 87 turn east on 141 turn and loop around to Rim Rd 300 then turn left.

Trailering from Payson Start: Forest Road 300 (Rim Road) at its western entrance near AZ Highway 87, just north of Payson. This entrance is about a 30–40 minute drive from your Payson pickup location

Ride: Travel east along Forest Road 300, stopping at the many scenic overlooks, Lakes, and picnic areas along the Mogollon Rim.

Recommended Turnaround: Knoll Lake or Woods Canyon Lake is one of the best places to stop. It offers:

• Beautiful lake views 
• Restrooms 
• Picnic areas 
• Great place for lunch 
• Plenty of parking 
• Excellent photo opportunities 

From Knoll Lake or Woods Canyon Lake, simply return west on FR 300 to your starting point. This makes for an easy full-day adventure that's ideal for families and first-time riders.
